Share a chat
Open the chat you want to share.
Click Share, then click Create link.
Copy the link and you can send it to the person you want to share with. If you make changes to the chat after creating the link, those changes will not appear in the old shared link. To share the latest version, update the share link again using the Update link button.
What the recipient can see
Anyone who opens your shared link can view the chat conversation in read-only mode.
They cannot edit your chat from the shared view.
Is the shared chat public or private?
Shared chats are link-based.
This means anyone with the link can open it. The link is not meant to be searchable, but you should still treat it like a public link because it can be forwarded.
Does the recipient need a QuantPilot account?
In most cases, no. The recipient can open the shared chat link without signing in.
If the link does not work, it may have been reset, expired, or become unavailable.
How to stop sharing
If you no longer want people to access the shared chat, reset or refresh the link. A new link will be created, and the old one will stop working.
If a shared chat link does not work
A shared link might stop working if:
it was reset
it expired
it is otherwise unavailable
If that happens, generate a new share link and send the new one.
Important: what not to share
Because shared chats can be opened by anyone with the link, avoid sharing chats that contain:
API keys or secret tokens
exchange login details
passwords or two-factor authentication backup codes
private keys or seed phrases
sensitive personal or financial information
